Americanism is an unfailing love of country, loyalty to its institutions and ideals, eagerness to defend it against all enemies, undivided allegiance to the flag, and a desire to secure the blessings of liberty and posterity. As American citizens and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, we know what Americanism stands for. It was, and is still, our responsibility to defend the United States in a time of peace as it is in time of war.
The goal of the Americanism program is to promote to our members and the American public the concepts of Americanism: love of country, respect for the Flag, allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and loyalty to our institutions of government. We do this by celebrating the contributions of our forefathers and promoting special events that recognize significant dates and events in American history.
Post Americanism activities can include community events and special programs to celebrate and recognize significant days. Among them, but certainly not limited to them, are the following examples. Included is some specific information associated with the day or event.
